Table Inventory Directory and Group Screens. Specify the Oracle inventory directory and group permissions for that directory. The group must have write permissions to the Oracle inventory directory. Select the method you want to use for obtaining software updates, or select Skip Software Updates if you do not want to get updates. If updates are found, the installer will automatically attempt to apply them at this point; make sure that the server you are using to perform the installation is connected to the Internet.
Some updates will require that the installer be restarted; if this happens, the Install Software Updates screen will not be seen the next time.
Verify the information on this screen, then click Install to begin the installation. Click Save to save your configuration information to a file. This information includes port numbers, installation directories, URLs, and component names which you may need to access at a later time.
After saving your configuration information, click Finish to dismiss the installer. After the installation is complete, you are ready to run the Configuration Wizard to configure your domain for Oracle SOA Suite products. See Overview of the Application Development Life Cycle for more information on how these tools fit into the application development life cycle. The life cycle of application development can be divided into three stages: modeling, implementation, and deployment.
In a real-world application development environment, the distinctions between these stages may not be clearly defined. A final production application may go through several iterations of modeling and implementation before it is deployed as a working application.
Additionally, applications may be deployed for testing and then passed back to the modeling and implementation stages for further refinement before being deployed to a production environment.
Figure shows a typical workflow in which application design is performed using both Process Composer and BPM Studio. After implementing the processes, developers can share the business processes with business analyst using the business asset manager. The Applications window displays a hierarchical view of the components of a project. The components displayed in the navigator are related to the modeling and implementation of business processes.
