I have changed the smtp settings to outbound. I have tried using the mobile smtp server and that doesnt work. I am stuck here. Can anyone help me on this if it is even possible? Did you keep your twc email address? I thought those normally got nuked when you cancelled your account with them, and you'd end up with an att.
I am thinking about making the switch to gmail but it's a lot of work to change. Well if you cancelled Time Warner they cancelled your email address as well.
Either way, if you havent officially cancelled time warner but will be soon, you will still lose the email address. You might as well start using the ATT. If you are sure it is still a valid address then you will need to get an email and password from ATT to use as authentication for outgoing emails. ATT will never allow someone to send mail on their internet lines from another provider. If the account still exists on your parents account, call TWC and let them know that you can't connect to your email from outlook at another house, and they should be able to give you the correct SMTP settings.
This isn't the case at all. ATT blocks port 25 for all emails to prevent spam. Authentication with an ATT email address is the only way to go. For a business line its a little different, and they will usually open port 25 for you.
But for uverse you have to use ATT Authentication. Their practices are still the same. The idea is that he will not be sending through time warner at all anymore, just receiving. Add your twc account into your gmail account so all received email goes into your gmail inbox.
You can then send a "my email address has changed " email out but still receive any sent to your twc address.
Forget my answer and do this. For home use even business a lot of times Gmail is really the best. No real limit on space or anything, and you can still use it with outlook. Sending reported error 0x The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending server. Here are my settings. Join our community to see this answer! Unlock 1 Answer and 3 Comments.
